Thoughts I have been having

American make me think. I was a little naive about their culture(s). I lumped all Americans into one category and that is like trying to stay all Canadians are the same. A couple of nights again, I was eat at Krabi's nightly outdoor food market (cheap yummies) alone and I ended up talking to an American married couple in their late twenties. I have gotten in the habit of asking Americans why, when asked where they are from do they always say the state they are from, not the country. No one, from any other country does that. That question started the debate on Americans stereotypes. Most American hate Americans (I am speaking about travelling American, they are the unique ones, 300million Americans and I have only met a hand full) and don't agree with the Bush War or the think that the States is the center of the world. People get the wrong impression about countries because ppl only remember the loud and annoying people and that clouds overall impression of the countries ppl haven't visited. I am trying to see the world for what it is... full of unique amazing people that could teach me something if given the time.

I have lots of theories. I am currently trying to figure out why I meet mostly guys, and guys mostly meet women. I don't think it comes down to "opposites attract". I really should write down everyone's response to the question, because each and every person has something different to say. My theory is that I find girls to be more judgement initially, where guys immediately accept you and couples... their another story all together. A couple guys I met in the bar ( the ones I played connect 4 with) said that they meet more chicks because of the macho thing. The topic could be an interesting research topic in the future.... for the research I would have to continue traveling the world.

To contract that previous rant. I did end up having dinner with brother and sister and bro's gf at the night market last night. It was the 29 year old raving nurse, Dawn from London that asked to join me. Everything that happens traveling is random. Its the best word for it. James if you are reading this... I can't wait t travel a little with you...

My thoughts are all over the place. I have been in Krabi for what almost a week now... and I don't want to leave because of the women that runs the guesthouse, JollyJumper... she is becoming my second mom, or my mom away from home. She has helped me find my way around the town, told me the place and cheapest places to munch. She doesn't charge me half of what she should for the Internet and got me a discount on my rock climbing course (saving me 35$ or 1000baht). I see her many times a day and she always has a smile for me. Don't worry mom... still missing you and look forward to Aussie soon.

Now what have I been up to other than making theories. Yesterday, I was planning on starting my 3 day rock climbing course, but because I stayed out too late with the Americans having a few cheap beers... I had a lazy day... took the local bus the 24km to the beach town Ao Nang (its one big tourist area... like banff in many ways) Napped, swam, hiked over the little mountain to the isolated resort on the next beach... I even wandered around the town. I may have accidentally ended up at McDonalds for an ice cream cone. Its not my fault... it was the dude's fault, I saw him walking down the street with on. A day is the over tourist town made me glad I followed Jazz's suggestion to say in Krabi town. It has cheaper guesthouses, excellent cheap food and I still can see Thai culture. The lazy day was supposed to ended with an innocent trip to the night market for dinner but I met a cool group of English ppl and I had a couple of beers with them. I even meet up with the 2 English blokes, Simon and Luke and the Aussie, Greg for the second time.

TODAY.... I am SO giddy about. I started my rock climbing course.... I forgot that I loved climbing this much. I still have this funny little smile on my face. My partner was a Finish Doctor and our guide Tick was an entertaining Thai guy that made life interesting. I am officially soar and looking forward to doing it again tomorrow, but without the doctor. My guide has offered to take me climbing again after the course if stay in Krabi a couple more days. We will see.

I will post a couple pics tomorrow.
Cheers...
